Azure Health Data Services FHIR Service API
A managed, FHIR R4-compliant REST API service that enables rapid exchange and storage of electronic health records and clinical data using the HL7 FHIR standard. Supports SMART on FHIR v1 and v2 for mobile and web client authorization, Microsoft Entra ID role-based access control (RBAC), audit logging, batch/transaction bundles, and advanced FHIR search. PHI data is isolated per FHIR service instance with multi-region failover. The FHIR service is the evolved replacement for the legacy Azure API for FHIR (retiring September 30, 2026).
